Valentine’s Day is coming up soon, and I thought I’d make a quick tutorial on how to make a cheap, creative, and quick gift for your friends, coworkers, or significant other. Candy roses!
Start by purchasing some tootsie rolls and unwrap 3 to 5 of them, depending on how big you want to make the rose.
All microwaves are different, so you may need to warm yours longer than mine, but I do around 14 seconds. Place the tootsie rolls on top of their wrappers to avoid mess then put them on a plate and evenly space them out.
Once they are done, take them out and check how warm they are. The tootsie rolls should be easier to squish now, but not completely melted. Once you think they are the right consistency, start squishing them into sort of long, rounded rectangles. Once you do that, roll the first one up like in the picture to make the center. After that, mold the rest of the rolls onto and around the center, and we’re done!
You can refrigerate these to solidify their form quickly, but it’s not necessary. Just bear in mind they will sort of wilt if you leave them out. It’s best to serve these stuck on a straw, popsicle stick, or dipping cup, so they can be enjoyed later.
Of course you can also make the same thing with colored tootsie rolls, with starburst, soft jolly ranchers, or any other soft chewy candy. Have fun and happy Valentine’s Day!
Another great Valentines DIY, may be a little too much work for me though :)

SOMEONE ASKED FOR ME TO MAKE MORE SO HERE IT IS, PART 2
I don’t know if you guys know this or not but the girl and the sailor didn’t even know each other, the sailor was drunk and sexually assaulted her in the street and they got off the boat. history lesson. boom.
THAT’S NOT WHAT HAPPENED
Upon hearing the news that the war was over, everyone was celebrating in the streets. The sailor was overwhelmed with the joy of the moment and grabbed a nurse and kissed her before they parted ways. She didn’t see it as a sexual assault, she understood that everyone was celebrating. And it certainly wasn’t simply a drunken act.
Stop trying to ruin this picture. It captures the joy of the end of a really awful time.
If I’m not mistaken, these two remain friends to this day.
You aren’t mistaken, they visit each other and their families and exchange christmas cards.
And this is him now:
